Things look to be out of order, My fault really. so next year I'm starting afresh, if I remember
Ruby Wedding Holiday

September 17th, 2011 we left Birmingham Airport for Malaga at 07:00. We flew with Monarch Air.It had just stared to rain as we were about to take off. We cleared customs by 11:00 at Malaga. Having found our transfer coach we sat outside in the heat , something we had been missing for the past few weeks back at home. There was about a 45 minute wait as other passengers were still clearing passport control. We were shown our way to the boarding area & were advised we could take our baggage trolleys to the coach. It was an escalator without the steps, quite steep. At the bottom someone had problems getting off, cases trolleys & bodies blocked our exit, the usual indecision as to what to do ensued, & we were rapidly getting closer. Fortunately, there were no people behind us, so I was able to backpedal & stay in the same spot whilst they sorted themselves out at the bottom. People actually stood talking at the bottom of the ramp blocking the exit as we were by now approaching the exit; CAROL had to shout at them to get out of the way. I despair at the attitude of the average British tourist; I think there is more sense in their cases than in their heads. We then had to go down a second ramp before we reached the coach boarding area; I made sure we were first whilst the people checked their luggage for scratches & other damage whilst still partially blocking the exit. Eventually we boarded a very comfortable coach & had quite a nice trip looking at the various hotels or apartments other people were staying at. Our journey took just about 90 minutes.  We were called at our hotel stop & told where to go...A long downhill walk to the reception. It was then I discovered that the usual gentle baggage handler treatment had been given to our case. I had a job extracting the drag handle, it had been partially bent. We all know who didn’t do it, so where’s the point in trying to get the insurance onto it? This has happened before on another new case & unless I could prove that damage was done at the home terminal or the destination terminal, no action could or would be taken. Having walked down a steep hill to the reception we registered & were taken to our apartment about a kilometre or so away. First impressions are very good we have a large lounge, a small but fully fitted kitchen with a small outer room with a washing machine. There are two bedrooms one double & one with two singles. We also have a bath/shower room each, & small veranda looking onto the road. It was discovered later that the kitchen light did not work. A ‘phone call soon got that sorted. We took a longish walk to get the kinks out & looked for lunch. We settled on a restaurant that looked as though it was used by locals. The prices were not exactly cheap. We ordered two Lamb leg meals after a wait of about 15min’s our food turned up, some veg, with chips & a whole leg of lamb from the foot to the shoulder blade. It was cooked to a treat there was far too much for Carol to eat so we asked for a ‘doggie bag’, & was given a foil container, the sort you take your pre-cooked chicken in.

Sunday 18th. we had a breakfast of eggs & followed up with nectarines & bananas in Greek yogurt, very nice too. We decided to go for a walk to the reception where we had a drink before moving on. We found ourselves on the beach, nothing to shout about. We picked the wrong road to walk on, the main N7 but we managed to cross via a bridge. We stopped for a coffee at some pizzeria before calling into a supermarket for some food. The day was long & very hot we had a lamb salad for our evening meal with wine I did not bother with a sweet. A few glasses of brandy, a shower & off to bed.

It's been a long time

I had forgotten I had a blog here. Since my last posting (May 2012, things have been moving at quite a rate. After our 40th wedding anniversary, my first cruise (September 2011.Not blogged) we took my Father-in-Law on a cruise in February 2013 to Madeira via France , Spain, Tenerife & home again calling into Spain yet again

I rediscover an old friend from way back in 1954. I spent a week with him & had a great time going over what had been & what could have been. I will be visiting again before too long I hope He has his own yacht, a 30 footer.

This year, we spent 6 weeks in Benalmadena April-May at the Sunset Beach Club it was one of the best holiday we had for a long time.
Sometime in August, I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. No big deal, it's not my worry. That is for the medical team, I'm just looking after it for them. Treatment starts in February I think after a long is session of drugs.
In short, that's it. I must try to keep up with this blog in the furture
